On The Avenue: Hank Johnson Graduates Lipscomb IDEAL Program
This week On The Avenue, we’re celebrating Hank Johnson on his graduation from the IDEAL program at Lipscomb University! We got to attend the ceremony at the end of last week, and it was truly inspiring. The IDEAL program injects its students with the hope, passion and courage it takes to chase their dreams. During the 2 year program, all IDEAL students take Lipscomb classes that align with their ambitions, and are placed in an internship at a local business. These internships vary based on each student’s interests and skills, and we have been lucky enough to have some of their students pass through here.
Here at both Westwood Avenue and Woodard Brothers, we find endless value in the lessons that the IDEAL program has to teach. Because of that, many of our employees are associated with the program in some way or another. Matt Stuhrenberg and Trey Tucker, both IDEAL alumni, currently work here in Westwood’s video department, and Colin Ransom, another IDEAL alum, helps out around the warehouse and reminds us all of the power of a smile.
We will also be adding new grads Brad Bramlett and Carson Dugger to our team. Brad will be helping out in the Westwood video department, while Carson will be an awesome addition to our distribution center. We even have one of our current Woodard guys, Alexander Curran, joining the IDEAL program this upcoming year. So as you can see, we’re all in.
During Hank’s time working with us, we all got to know him for the hardworking, fun loving guy that he is. Every time he walked through our doors, he did it with a smile and a willingness to learn, and for that, we could not be more thankful. Through so many of our IDEAL students, we have learned that patience and a positive attitude are the keys to success.
Although we’re sad to see Hank’s time with us here at Woodard Brothers come to an end, we’re SO excited to see what he does next. We know he has a bright future ahead of him, and we’re so grateful that we had the opportunity to be a part of his journey.
So join me in congratulating Hank on all that he has accomplished, and wishing him luck as he moves forward!
