On The Avenue: Meet Jake
This week On the Avenue you’ll be meeting one of our Woodard guys, Jake Wiseman. Jake has been here with us since the very beginning, and knows this warehouse like the back of his hand. His dedication to his work and openness with his coworkers are just a couple of the things that make him such an awesome part of our team.
I sat down with him this week so that we could all get to know him a little better.
How did you meet Tom?
“He was my parent’s neighbor a few years ago. Around… 2013. Our families were very friendly. In 2016 when I was out of school, I was looking for a job and Tom knew about that. He told me he had a spot for me here. It’s been really cool.”
How long have you lived in Nashville?
“I have been here all my life. I went to high school here and then to Lipscomb for college.”
What do you like about working at Woodard Brothers?
“The work is very fulfilling. I feel like whenever I’m being productive, it’s very rewarding. I also like that it’s kind of not… normal? In the sense that it’s just very open and free.”
Give me one fun fact.
“I really like acting. I started in early middle school and then was in plays almost every year up until my last 2 years in high school. After that I went to college for acting.
One of my performances that I talk about often is my role as Kurt von Trapp in The Sound of Music in 7th grade. I think one of the most fun performances I’ve had though, was in 10th grade. I was at Nashville Children’s Theatre and I was a military character in the Agatha Christie play, The Mousetrap. It was very cool.”
What is something that you would rate 10/10?
“Halo 3. It was a very, very good game. Very nostalgic.”
So join me in saying thank you to Jake for being the awesome guy that he is, and visit us again next week, here, On The Avenue.
