On The Avenue: The British Paraorchestra

Today On The Avenue we wanted to share something that caught our attention this week.

The British Paraorchestra, founded by Charles Hazlewood and Claire Whalley in 2011, is a music ensemble made up of musicians both with and without disabilities. All of the members of the orchestra are leading musicians with huge amounts of passion and talent. They are the perfect reminder that having a disability of any kind does not mean that you cannot find success in your field. Check out the trailer for The British Paraorchestra’s first short film documentary, “Towards Harmony, A Musical Integration, “below.

You can also view creator, Charles Hazlewood’s TEDTalk here, where he discusses the ensemble before they gave their debut performance.

We are always so excited to find those who share our values, and help to spread love and talent. Thanks so much for visiting us here On The Avenue. We’ll see you next time!
